World's First Respiratory Interventional Balloon Cryoablation System Approved
On March 6, 2025, the cryoablation system for malignant stenosis—independently developed by Ningbo SensCure Biotechnology Co., Ltd. and comprising a "disposable airway cryoablation catheter" and "cryotherapy equipment"—received market approval from the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) (Catheter Registration No.: Guo Xie Zhu Zhun 20253010479; Equipment Registration No.: Guo Xie Zhu Zhun 20253010490). This system is the first product in SensCure's respiratory disease cryoablation series; designed to ablate airway tumor tissue and reduce the frequency of airway restenosis, it offers a range of cryo-balloon specifications suitable for ablating tissues across varying areas and depths.
SensCure's respiratory cryoablation product series utilizes liquid nitrogen as the cryogen, offering features such as high ablation efficiency, a broad ablation range, and environmental friendliness. Several other products targeting respiratory indications via liquid nitrogen cryoablation are currently in the clinical trial stage for registration, and it is anticipated that more innovative products in SensCure's respiratory cryoablation series will be launched in the near future.
